OUR PACKAGES

- Sea Safaris -

3 PEOPLE MAX

For groups of 3 people max. We can offer a very personalised tour of the amazing coastline here on the South Coast of Cornwall. Bring your wetsuits, binoculars, snorkeling equipment or beach barbecue and towels! We can literally tailor the day to suit you! How does this sound, we depart from the pontoon after breakfast and head out into the bay where we may be lucky enough to spot one of the many dolphin pods that call this area home. If they see us and are in a playful mood its not uncommon to have 50-100 dolphins all around the boat, breaching the bow wave in front of us as we travel. In this area we could also get close to a feeding school of colossal Bluefin Tuna. These fish can be well in excess of 400kg and will leap clear of the water when in a feeding frenzy. This attracts all manner of bird life and is an amazing sight! If we see any fish on the sonar we can drop a line down and get you some fresh fish for your evening barbecue at the campsite, all filleted, prepped for you and stored in our fridge on board! We can then head into one of the secluded bays for some snorkeling or we can drop you off on your own private beach for a barbecue! You tell us what you would like to do and we will try our very best to make it happen. All safari trips are weather dependent for your safety. We will liase with you in the days leading up to your trip and advise you what to expect from your trip and what clothing we advise you bring. As part of your day out with us aboard WHITE RABBIT. Guests are welcome to use our kettle and cool box should they wish to bring their own food and drinks.

- Gilthead Bream Fishing -

3 PEOPLE MAX

Gilthead bream fishing On the Falmouth estuaries The Helford & The Fal What can we say about these amazing fish, Well if we're honest these stunning hard fighting visitors to our cornish Estuarys in Cornwall have completely captivated us for a few years... pound for pound the hardest fighting fish in UK waters for their size. The Gilts seem to arrive in numbers in early March and stay with us until late Autumn, but a few do seem to stay all-year. They enter the Helford and Fal to feed on the abundance of crabs, and shell fish in these estuaries. If you choose a days gilting then we will supply you with the very best tackle with all bait provided that we collect ourselves from the same estuaries Gilt fishing demands patience and quiet as we are fishing in very shallow water in the inlets and creeks. simple, very strong end tackle is needed baited with live crab 🦀 or razor clam. Bites can be explosive as the bream grabs the bait and runs off at high speed sometimes unstoppable runs, demanding patience and skill. If you have never hooked a Gilthead bream then you are in for an amazing experience. The Bream in the Helford and Fal grow to double figures, but a good average size is 3-4lb. We fish for Gilthead bream on the smaller tides as they definitely prefer these tides. Also as a by-catch we will catch bass and the beautiful Couches Bream. The advantage to the bream fishing is we can fish in the estuary in virtually any weather. As part of our bream fishing excursion in the Helford River we are able to offer the chance to moor up at the famous Ferryboat Inn for lunch. If you been to the Ferryboat before you will know just how popular this place is with the locals and how tricky it can be to reserve a table in the summer. However our good friend Alex who runs the Inn has very kindly offered all guests with Rock Island Charters a chance to eat at the Inn on our own VIP reserved table! Should you wish to take advantage of this please let us know via text or email in advance of your day out with us. Pleae note any drinks and meals ordered at the Ferryboat Inn are not included in the prices of your trip. We can offer guidance on cleaning, filleting and prepping your catch for the table. Should you wish to take your catch home with you it can be freshly filleted and stored in our coolbox throughout your trip with us.

- Shark Fishing -

3 PEOPLE MAX

During mid summer when conditions allow we also offer shark fishing trips. This involves a whole day at sea up to 10 miles offshore. We will be targeting blue sharks up to 10 feet long. The technique will be setting up a chum slick that will draw the sharks to the boat, where we will have two rods out presenting baits at varying depths. When the sharks come on the feed this style of fishing can be both explosive, and visual as the sharks will at times come right up to the boat to get a closer look at you.

- Lure Fishing For Bass-

3 PEOPLE MAX

Bass Fishing in Falmouth Bay Falmouth Bay on the south coast of Cornwall offers some of the best inshore Bass fishing in the UK. We have fished for bass around Falmouth for over 30 years, with the abundance of inshore reefs and masses of bait fish it really can offer the sporting angler with so many options. We at Rock Island Charters Specialise in ultra light lure fishing. We will supply you with the very best possible lure rods and reels for your day out with us. The main technique is drifting over inshore reefs and pinnacles using weighted rubber lures from 30g to 60g. Fishing in depths of 5m to 30m deep, we prefer to fish for bass on the bigger tides as the bass definitely prefer to feed on these tides when the bait fish are most vulnerable. The best bass fishing is from late July to December, with the really big fish normally showing up around September to December. Over the last 3 seasons we have witnessed some amazing bass fishing. We took bass to 13lb last season, our personal best day was 27 bass with 3 of these being double figure fish with the average size of 7lb. Truly an outstanding day's sport. Also on the same bass marks we fish you will catch some amazing pollock... we have had pollock to over 14lb from inshore reefs no more than half a mile from the shore and massive colourful Ballan wrasse well over 6lb. We are Truly blessed with some amazing fishing here around Falmouth.
